Description
The Stone is a building dating from around 1810, which incorporates parts of a 17th-century home. It stands two storeys tall and is constructed of yellow stock brick, topped with a slated mansarded attic. The south front features a frieze, cornice, and blocking course, with segmental bows on either side of a central bay. The ground floor has French casements, while the upper floor and dormers are fitted with barred sashes. The west or garden front consists of three bays and includes a central Doric porch. Inside, the south-east rear room retains 17th-century panelling. The east elevation shows a mix of 17th-century brickwork and 18th-century red brickwork.
