TAPLOW (Cliveden) CLIVEDEN ROAD The Tortoise Fountain and enclosing wall

II c1900 by T Waldo Story for W.W Astor. Marble fountain of three superimposed basins of diminishing size set on marble central shaft. The upper basin has carved tortoises around the edge. Adjacent is a curved stretch of red brick and stone balustraded wall derived from the Borghese balustrade (qv).
