Description

This is a 17th-century house that was renovated and remodelled in the later 19th century as part of the Rothschild estate. It is timber-framed with colourwashed brick infill; the upper storey is rendered, and the gable is tile-hung. The roof is tiled, with a central brick chimney and a later chimney at the northeast end. The house has two storeys, with a gable end facing the road, featuring a moulded tiebeam, bargeboard and finial. On the ground floor are two single-light and one five-light leaded casement windows, with a modern door in a lean-to on the left-hand side. The first floor has one two-light and one three-light leaded casement window. The right-hand flank elevation has a shallow tiled projection with three-light casement windows to each floor on the right-hand side; the upper window has a swept roof.
