Description
Anthony Hall is a village hall built in 1884 by George Devey, one of his last projects, as a memorial to Anthony de Rothschild by his widow Louise. The building features red brick construction with timber framing in the gables and has a red tiled roof adorned with ornamental ridge tiles and finials. At the center, there is a rectangular cupola with a tiled base, wooden louvre sides, and corner brackets that support a steeply tapered lead cover topped with two finials. The gable end facing the road includes a large shallow bay window and a tie beam inscribed with "ANTHONY HALL 1884," along with a cross casement in the gable. The west elevation displays two chimneys with square panelled shafts, two narrow windows flanking the left-hand window, and two layered mullioned and transomed windows with gabled heads. There is a one-storey wing on the east side featuring a porch in the angle and a window that rises above the eaves with a hipped roof.
