Description
Paxtons Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill, while the ground floor and the gable of the right bay have been rebuilt in whitewashed brick. The cottage has a thatched roof with flanking brick chimneys; the left chimney is external and has a small lean-to, likely an oven, at the front. The building is two storeys high with two main bays. It has leaded casements that are irregular on the ground floor, and the upper floor has two paired casements on the right and two three-light casements on the left. There is a 20th-century door to the right of the left bay and a 20th-century single-storey extension to the right, which is mostly glazed and has a tiled roof. Additionally, there is a lean-to at the rear.
