Description

This is a row of three cottages located on Upper Icknield Way, near Whiteleaf, in Princes Risborough. The cottages date from the early 17th century, with alterations and extensions in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The middle cottage retains a timber frame with a single curved brace and whitewashed brick infill. The outer cottages are constructed of flint and brick, with some parts whitewashed; the left-hand gable shows remnants of a timber frame and plaster infill. The roofs are thatched, with the left side half-hipped and the right side fully hipped. A brick chimney is situated between the left bays.

The cottages are two storeys high, originally comprising three main bays—the right-hand bay has a thatched wing extending to the rear. The windows are paired wooden casements with bars, larger on the ground floor; the left bay has two windows on the first floor. A single light window is located between the left bays, and there are single leaded lights on the ground floor of the left bay. Each bay features a board door with a segmental head. A lean-to addition is present at the rear.
