Description
Berry Farmhouse is a 16th-century hall and crosswing house that features a late 16th-century inserted stack and flooring over the original hall. The west crosswing has been largely rebuilt in the 19th century using brick. The timber-framed hall range is clad in brick, and the building has old tile roofs, except for the west wing, which is slated.
The hall range includes a cross passage at the east and a large stack at the west junction with the crosswing, which has four diagonal shafts. The south elevation has a colourwashed rendered first floor that is masonry-scribed. The east or service wing extends north and features brick infilled close-studded timber framing. The south gable elevation has triple casements with horizontal sliding sashes. The west wing consists of three bays with a central door and recessed barred sashes.
