Description
Foliots is a late 16th century or early 17th century timber-framed house located in Latimer Village. The building features some original timber framing, although parts are concealed by oak planks. It has a cement plinth, with roughcast walls that are colourwashed. The house is two storeys high and has five irregular casement windows on the ground floor. The outer bays have gabled windows on the first floor, while the inner three feature dormers. The roof is covered with old tiles, and there is a central brick stack made of 17th century thin bricks, which has four staggered square shafts. The original entrance has been converted into a window and is situated in front of the stack. The north wing of the house is also from the 17th century.
Inside, the house has moulded or chamfered ceiling beams and two wide fireplaces with projecting hoods. The fireplace on the first floor has stone chamfered jambs and a three-centred arch, along with moulded stops and a mantelshelf.
