Description

Granborough War Memorial is a nearly 5-meter high structure made of Clipsham limestone. It features a Gothic-style Latin cross with decorative tracery at the angles of each arm, resting on a tapering shaft that sits on an octagonal plinth.

The plinth has a carved inscription that reads "1914 – 1918/ THEIR NAME/ LIVETH/ FOR EVERMORE." Another side of the plinth honors "ALL WHO GAVE/ THEIR LIVES IN/ THE GREAT WAR/ AND ESPECIALLY/ OF THOSE FROM/ GRANBOROUGH."

The plinth is supported by an octagonal two-tiered base, with the upper tier inscribed with the names of five men who died in the First World War.
