Description

This is a house and former post office, dating from the late 16th to 17th century, and altered subsequently. The building has a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill visible in the right gable. The front facade is largely covered with whitewashed render but retains the wall plate and ends of the original rafters. It has a shingle roof and a brick chimney situated between the left bays. The house is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The ground floor has 3-light, C20 leaded casement windows in the left-hand bays, and a 2-light window to the right; a single fanlight casement is located in the centre of the first floor. C20 doors are found in the right bay and between the left bays. A later lean-to and a C20, flat-roofed extension create an L-shaped plan to the rear.
