Description

Greens North Farmhouse, stable, byre, and railings is an early 19th-century complex of buildings under a single roof. The construction is of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. The farmhouse section has two bays and features ashlar surrounds to the openings with straight tooling. A central doorway is fitted with a part-glazed four-panel door, and sash windows are present. End stacks are also visible. To the left of the farmhouse is a stable with a board door set within a re-set chamfered quoined doorway. This doorway has a triangular soffit to its lintel, featuring a recessed panel inscribed "JA 170(3)". An added byre is situated to the right, with an end entry and two vents leading to the hay loft. A low stone wall, retaining the road, runs in front of the farmhouse and part of the byre. This wall is topped with wrought-iron railings supported by interval posts, each with urn finials.
