Description

Moor Close is a farmhouse and byre built under one roof in the mid-18th century. It features a rubble construction with a stone slate roof and stands two storeys high, with ashlar quoins on all sides. The house has two first-floor windows and an added rear outshut. There is a plinth and a central board door framed by an ashlar surround with impost jambs. The windows are 4-pane sashes set in ashlar surrounds, with a weathercourse above the ground-floor window to the left of the door. To the left of the door is a fire-window, also with a weathercourse. The building has shaped kneelers and ashlar copings, with end stacks. The byre is located to the left and features a board door in an ashlar surround with impost jambs, as well as a ground-floor vent with an ashlar surround. External stone steps lead up to a first-floor board door that accesses the hayloft above the stable, which has been added to the left and projects forward as an outshut, with an entry on the right return.
