Description
This mid-18th century farmhouse is a two-storey, three-bay traditional rectangular structure, featuring a lower two-storey byre and loft. The exterior is finished with harled rubble and flagstone.
On the southeast elevation, the central entrance has a boarded door with a letterbox fanlight above it. There is a single window on the first floor above the entrance, although the upper sash has been replaced. Additional single windows are located on the ground and first floors in the outer left and right bays. The byre with loft is attached to the northeast.
The northwest elevation includes a single-storey lean-to with a corrugated roof, and there are single windows on both floors in the outer left bay. The adjoining byre features a glazed square opening at ground level, likely a former muck hole.
On the southwest elevation, there are single windows on both floors in the outer right. The northeast elevation of the byre is gabled and has two openings on the first floor.
Inside the byre, there is a flagstone floor and whitewashed walls, with timber joists supporting the structure. It has 8-pane timber sash and case windows, a flag slate roof, stone ridging, a coped gablehead stack, and two cast-iron skylights at the rear.
There are also outbuildings and boundary walls, including a single-storey, pitch-roofed outbuilding to the northwest of the byre, which is now in ruins since 1995. A drystone wall encloses the garden to the southeast of the house.
