Description

This building is a workshop and store located approximately 5 meters south-west of Spice Gill Farmhouse. It is believed to date from the 18th century and consists of at least two phases of construction, with some alterations. The structure is made of roughly-coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, resting on a boulder plinth, and features a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular plan oriented on a north-south axis and stands two stories tall.

On the east side, there is a central doorway, a former two-light flush-mullioned window to the left at ground floor level (now converted into a casement with glazing bars), and an added bay to the right that includes a segmental-headed wagon doorway with rubble voussoirs. This bay also has a gable end with a flight of external steps leading to a loft doorway. The south gable of the main range features two square windows at first-floor level: a sliding sash window on the left and a 12-pane fixed window on the right, along with a small wooden-shuttered window positioned between them. A ridge chimney is present on the roof. The interior has not been inspected. This building forms a group with Spice Gill Farmhouse.
