Description
Cowgill Bridge is a public road bridge over the River Dee, dated 1702 on the north parapet. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and features low-pitched parapet copings. The bridge has a low segmental arch made of rubble voussoirs and arch-bands, with the parapets splaying outwards at the west end. The north parapet includes a square datestone inscribed: "THIS / BRIDG REPER / ED. AT THE / CHARGE OF THE / WEST RIDING / A.D.1702".
