13/152 Barn to north-east of Swan Inn

Bank barn. Late C18 or early C19. Coursed stone rubble with slate roof. South elevation breaks forward toward eastern end, with outshut under catslide roof. 2 barn entrances, one to west of forward break, one to west of outshut; both have pentices and paired doors, the former with inserted smaller door. Entrance inserted at west end. Outshut has return entrance. East gable end has 2-light double-chamfered-mullioned window with intermediate bars to outshut, with window below, and double-chamfered window to right. 4 cow house doors, 3 with segmental arches, under remains of dripcourse; pivoted doors. Gable has 3 pigeon loft openings. North elevation breaks forward to eastern end. Later lean-to outshut to western end. Double-chamfered window and plain window to eastern end, with winnowing door above. Another winnowing door to west of forward break. Square ventilation holes. Interior of barn has 10 collar and tie beam trusses with cambered collars. Outshut has small structure with riven stone slabs in timber framing to 3 sides, wide-boarded door with strap hinges and remains of lath and plaster ceiling.
