Description
The Cottage is a house dated 1717, constructed from rubble with stone slate roofs. It has a U-shaped plan featuring two continuous rear service wings and stands two storeys high. The south elevation has two first-floor windows. On the ground floor, there is a 2-light window set in a double-chamfered surround with a recessed flat-faced mullion, alongside two 3-light double-chamfered mullion windows. The first floor features 3-light double-chamfered mullion windows. To the right, there is a shaped kneeler and moulded ashlar coping, as well as stepped end stacks made of ashlar.
At the rear, the ground floor includes, from the left, two 2-light double-chamfered mullion windows, a 4-pane fixed-light window, and a 4-panel door set in an ashlar quoined chamfered surround, which has the inscription "EW 1717" on the lintel and a cornice above. The first floor has a mix of 3-light and 2-light double-chamfered mullion windows, arranged in paired gables that feature shaped kneelers and moulded coping.
