Description

This is a disused limekiln located 200 metres south-east of Low Sealhouse Farm in Arkengarthdale. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed from drystone rubble. The structure is built against a hillside and has a tapering rectangular shape. It features rubble voussoirs forming a segmental arch over the hearth, with a circular opening at the top.
