Description
This outbuilding, located approximately 5 metres west of Carr Farmhouse, dates back to 1723. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of two bays, with quoins at the corners. On the left side, there is a board door with quoined jambs and a projecting lintel. To the right, a three-light flat-faced mullion window is present, along with a square loading window above it that has a recessed chamfered surround. Between these two windows is a square plaque with a moulded frame and raised lettering that reads "1723." On the left return, there is a blocked central narrow window located below the eaves level. The building was likely constructed as a stable. The date plaque and the three-light window may have been reused, possibly from Carr Farmhouse, which suggests that the outbuilding might have been built when Carr Farmhouse was re-fenestrated in the mid-19th century.
