Description

Low Ryelands Farmhouse is a house dating to the late 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has four windows on the first floor, and quoins are visible. A half-glazed door is located to the left of centre, set within a plain stone surround topped with a cornice. Sashes with glazing bars are found in plain stone surrounds throughout the building. End stacks and a ridge stack are present to the right of the door. The interior was not inspected at the time of resurvey. The asymmetrical placement of the door and the spacing between the central and right-hand windows suggest the building may have earlier origins, potentially dating back to the 17th century.
