Description
High Ryelands is a house and attached outbuilding, dated 1871. It is built of coursed rubblestone with ashlar dressings and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a three-bay main range, with a lower two-bay outbuilding set slightly back on the right.
The main range includes a central doorcase with imposts, a segmental-arched head, and a cornice, leading to an internal porch. On either side of the doorcase are tripartite windows with 4-pane sashes flanked by 2-pane sashes. Above, there are three 4-pane sashes, all within plain surrounds. The building also has moulded gutter brackets and corniced ashlar end stacks.
The outbuilding features a segmental carriage arch with a dated keystone, a quoined doorway to the left, and a small-pane window above. There are similar windows on each floor to the right, all with plain surrounds and gutter brackets. The property is included for its group value.
