Description
Clapham Cottage is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a cottage. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone alterations in the 18th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from squared rubble with stone dressings and features a stone slate roof.
The entrance is located on the right side and has a plain surround with a 20th-century door. To the left of the entrance, there are two ground floor windows that were originally 2-light double chamfered mullioned windows, but the mullions are now missing and have been replaced with 20th-century casements. These windows have hoodmoulds. On the upper floor, there are two similar windows, but they do not have hoodmoulds.
Additionally, there is a fluted iron rainwater head designed in the style of the 1770s. The left-hand gable end features an oval ridge stack set on a square base.
