Description

Crow Nest is a farmhouse, dating to the late 18th century, with earlier origins in the 17th century and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of slobbered rubble with painted stone dressings. The building is two storeys high and has four bays. The right-of-centre entrance has a moulded surround and a hood supported by console brackets. It contains a five-panel door, with the upper panel glazed, and a rectangular fanlight above. Voussoirs from a blocked carriage entrance are visible flanking the ground floor window to the left. Three ground floor and four upper floor windows have plain surrounds; the windows flanking the entrance have sixteen-pane sashes, while the others are sashes with glazing bars. There are modillions to the eaves. Gable end and left-of-centre ridge stacks are present. A rear entrance features a chamfered surround and a segmental-arched lintel, dating to the 17th century.
