Description
Stockdale House is a house dating from the late 17th century, which was refronted in the late 18th century and has had some 20th-century alterations. The building is rendered with stone dressings and features a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and has a double fronted design. The central entrance has a plain surround and features a five-panel door, with the upper panel being glazed and accompanied by plank shutters. There are two windows on each storey, which are three-light flat faced mullioned windows with 20th-century casements. The house has a gable end on the right and ridge stacks on the left. At the rear, there is a projecting stair wing and a late 17th-century double chamfered two-light mullioned window. Inside, there is a stone dog-leg staircase with a closed string, late 17th-century splat balusters, a moulded handrail, and a newel post.
