Description

Leigh House is a house dating from the 1740s, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of slobbered rubble with stone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The house features a central staircase plan and is two storeys tall with a double fronted design. The central entrance is adorned with an eared architrave and a pulvinated frieze that includes a central five-pointed star, topped with a shallow hood. The entrance door is a four-panel design. There are two windows on each storey, with chamfered surrounds; the ground floor windows are sashes without glazing bars, while the upper floor has 20th-century casements. In the centre of the upper floor, there is a chamfered blind oculus. The gable ends have ridge stacks.
