Description
Moughton Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with alterations from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is built of slobbered rubble with painted stone dressings and has a slate roof. The cottage features a central staircase plan and has a gable end facing the street. It is two storeys tall and has a double front. A mid-20th century trellis wood porch leads to the central entrance, which has a plain surround and a six-panel door, with the upper two panels glazed. The ground floor windows on the left and right are two-light double chamfered windows with recessed flat-faced mullions; the left window has casements, while the right has sashes without glazing bars. On the upper floor, there are two two-light windows with plain surrounds and recessed wooden mullions, both of which are sashes without glazing bars. The cottage has a left-hand ridge stack and a right-hand gable-end ridge stack. It is included for its group value.
