Description
This is a house located 140 yards southwest of Mearbeck House, dating from 1717 and altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of slobbered rubble with milled stone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has a double fronted design. The entrance features a plain surround with a four-panel door, of which the upper two panels are glazed. Above the door is a datestone with the initials P T.M. The windows have plain surrounds, projecting sills, and are fitted with 16-pane sash windows. At the rear, there is a ground floor 17th-century double chamfered two-light mullioned window, and a similar window on the upper floor to the right, although the mullion is now missing. To the left on the upper floor is an 18th-century recessed flat-faced mullioned window. The house is currently uninhabited.
