Description
Millgate Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1820. It is constructed from squared rubble with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has a central staircase plan and stands two storeys high with three bays. The central entrance has a plain surround and a moulded pediment, leading to a six-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed. There are two ground floor and three upper floor windows, all with plain surrounds and 16-pane sash windows. The farmhouse has projecting quoins, a moulded eaves cornice, gable coping, and gable end ridge-stacks. At the rear, above the entrance, there is a reset decorated lintel from the late 17th or early 18th century. Inside, there is a dog-leg stair with stick balusters and a moulded handrail.
