Description
Green Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, dated 1689, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of limewashed rubble with stone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The house likely has a lobby entry plan. It is two storeys high and has four bays. A projecting gabled entrance porch in the second bay features a right-hand entrance with a moulded surround and a dated, decorated lintel inscribed "RWB 1689". A six-panel door is set within the surround. To the left of the porch is a ground-floor two-light window with ovolo mullions, and above it a stepped three-light window with cavetto mullions. A sundial with an iron gnomon is positioned below the stepped light, with an infilled panel in the gable. A blocked segmental headed chamfered fire window is on the ground floor to the left of the porch, alongside a three-light cavetto mullioned window with a similar two-light window above. To the right of the porch are three and two-light ovolo mullioned ground-floor windows, and two similar windows above, but with cavetto mullions. The windows have 20th-century casements. The building has gable end ridge stacks and a stack to the left of the centre. The interior was not accessible when the building was recorded.
