Description
Cross Keys is a former inn that has been converted into a farmhouse. It dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features rendered walls with painted stone dressings and a slate roof. It has a central staircase plan and a gable end facing the street. The structure is two storeys high and has a double front.
The central entrance has a plain surround on square bases and features a late-19th century four-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed. On the left side of the ground floor, there are two-light chamfered mullioned windows, while the right side has a two-light recessed flat-faced mullioned window. Above the entrance is a crossed keys emblem. There are two upper floor windows, which were originally two-light with mullions, but the mullions are now missing. All windows are fitted with sashes that have glazing bars. The building also has shaped kneelers, gable end coping, and gable end ridge stacks. At the rear, there is an entrance with a chamfered surround.
