Description
Crag Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century, constructed of limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, following a lobby entrance plan. It features quoins and a half-glazed door located between the second and third bays, framed by dressed stone jambs and lintels, with evidence of a quoined jamb to the right.
On the ground floor, the windows from left to right include a 4-pane sash in a plain stone surround, a 4-light recessed and chamfered mullion window with two mullions removed, and another similar window on the far right, which has a moulded string course above it. The first floor has two, three, and three-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows positioned directly beneath the eaves line. The gables are stone coped, and there are stacks located at the far left and at the ridge opposite the door, with the latter having been restored. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
