Description
Fell Gate Farmhouse and the adjoining garage date back to 1759, as indicated by the initials JWA on the segment-headed date stone above the front door. The building features rubble construction, with the house being wet-dashed and a rendered lean-to on the north side. The garage walls are slobbered, and both structures have a graduated slate roof.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three bays. It includes a central part-glazed door set in a gabled porch, with a casement window to the right and a casement along with a small fire window to the left. On the first floor, there are two casement windows. All openings have chamfered stone surrounds. The lean-to on the right has a part-glazed door, while the garage on the left, which was converted from a byre, features two plank doors, one of which is a sliding garage door. Rendered end chimneys complete the exterior.
