Description

This is a pair of cottages located on Mill Lane in Kings Worthy, dating from around 1840. They are constructed of brick and have a slate roof. Each cottage is two stories high and has two bays with a central door. Cottage No. 1, on the left, features a top-glazed four-panelled door, while Cottage No. 2 has a 19th-century gabled brick porch with a planked door. Both cottages have early 19th-century two-light cast iron casements, except for the ground floor of No. 1, which has later two-light timber casements. The roof is nipped and includes end stacks as well as a central stack. Attached to the right end of No. 2 is a single-storey extension with a hipped roof and a reused cast iron casement.
