Description
No. 3 Mill Lane is a cottage that dates back to the 17th century and was remodeled in the late 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill, which is partly encased in flint and brick dressings, topped with a thatched roof. The cottage consists of three bays, with the right two bays having a stack between them, encased in flint, creating a symmetrical front. A 20th-century brick bay has been added to the right to balance the left bay of timber-frame and brick infill. The building is 1½ storeys high with four bays in total. The central doorway has a 20th-century door beneath a flat hood. On each side of the doorway, there are 19th-century three-light casements, with another similar window above in an eyebrow dormer. To the right, there is a reset similar window, and to the left, there is a 20th-century window. The roof is hipped with a ridge piece, featuring a large central stack and a projecting stack on the left hip.
