Description
Abbots Worthy Mill is a 18th-century mill and barn that has been converted into a dwelling. The mill is constructed of brick, while the barn is weather-boarded and topped with an old plain tile roof. The mill features five bays and stands two stories tall, with a mill stream running beneath the left bay and to the left of it. Adjacent to the mill, on the far side of the stream, is the barn, which is now connected to the mill by a first-floor glazed walkway. The barn is two stories high and has three bays. In front of the mill, there is a brick arched bridge with plain parapets that crosses the mill stream. The left bay of the mill has a narrow light on each floor. The center and right bays originally had full-height openings for doors, which have now been replaced by windows on each floor, with a timber panel in between. The other bays also feature windows on each floor, which were originally two-light casements. The roof is hipped and includes a stack located near the left end of the ridge, as well as a hipped dormer with a door on the left hip, used for hoisting grain into the loft.
