Description

The pair of cottages at 6 and 7 Mill Lane, Kingsworthy, originally comprised a single house, dating to the 17th century. They are timber-framed with brick infill, and have a thatched roof. The building is of 1½ storeys and has a 4-bay timber-frame design, with an outshot bay added in the 18th century on the left side, and a further outshot added in the 19th century to the front of that. The larger bay, to the left of centre, features a stack at its right end, along with planked doors flanking it. Three 20th-century, 3-light casement windows are present in the right half of the building, with one situated in an eyebrow dormer above. Four 19th-century, 2-light casement windows are found in the left half, two of which are positioned in eyebrow dormers above. The left-hand outshot includes a 19th-century, 2-light cast iron casement window. The roof is hipped, with a large central ridge stack and a projecting stack to the front right corner.
