Description

Freshwater House is a late 17th or early 18th century cottage that was re-fronted in the early 19th century. It is constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings. The roof is slate, with a brick dentil cornice. The sash windows have glazing bars and are set in near-flush, moulded frames, with stuccoed lintels and external shutters to the lower windows. A 6-panel door is under a cornice hood, with a patterned, rectangular fanlight above. The left return is weatherboarded. Early brickwork and segment-headed casement windows are visible on the right return and at the rear. This building possesses group value from its contribution to the streetscape.
