Description
Aldersnapp Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 19th century, with early and late 20th-century alterations. The farmhouse features rendered walls, an eaves fascia, a plinth, and stone cills. The west side wing is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with blue headers, and the roof is covered with interlocking tiles.
The north elevation is symmetrical and consists of two storeys with three windows. There is a lower two-storeyed extension on the west side, which includes a service door and a small ground floor window. The windows are 16-light sashes set in reveals. The plain doorway has a gabled canopy supported by carved wood and wrought-iron brackets, leading to a half-glazed door.
The south elevation is also symmetrical and has two storeys, with the first floor featuring a 1.1.1 window arrangement. Above the projecting centrepiece, there is a pediment or gable. The ground floor has a full-width forward extension, which includes a late 20th-century central window flanked by two early 20th-century sashes on each side. There are minor outshots at each end of the elevation.
