Description
Stroudbridge Farmhouse is a 16th-century timber-framed building with two storeys and an attic, featuring four windows that are irregularly placed. The structure consists of two sections; the right side has a very steeply pitched roof that is half hipped on the right, while the left side has a similarly steep roof that is also half hipped. The roofs are tiled, and there is a chimney located left of centre along with a later square dormer. The first floor has close studding with flushwork flint filling on the right, and square framing with brick filling on the left. The front of the building has a jettied appearance, but the ground floor was extended in 18th-century brick, which is now bulging and supported by 19th-century brick buttresses at both the front and back. The south wall is tile hung, and the windows have been replaced with casements. Inside, there are very stout and long chamfered beams with a pronounced curve, exposed posts with half-rails, and one small original fireplace located upstairs. The ground floor features old floor bricks.
