Description

No. 17 South Street is a house dating from the early 18th century, which was refronted in the early 19th century. It features channelled stucco on a plinth and has a rendered parapet above a plain tiled roof. The house has rendered end stacks and two flat-headed dormers. It is two storeys tall with attics and has a basement on the left side, which includes a small opening at pavement level. The front of the house has a regular arrangement of three windows, with glazing bar sashes set in open boxes. The central entrance is approached by three steps and features a panelled door, framed by a pilastered surround and topped with an entablature hood.
