Description

This is a pair of houses located on South Street in Lewes, dating to the early 19th century. The left-hand house is rendered, while the right-hand one is stuccoed, both resting on a plinth. A central pilaster strip runs vertically, and a moulded cornice tops the facade, leading to a plain tiled roof. Chimneys are located at the right end and to the rear left of the building.

The houses are three storeys high with a basement. The front has a regular two-window arrangement, with the upper floor being slightly recessed. The windows are glazing bar sash windows. Paired entrances are located in the centre, featuring panelled doors with inset toplights, set within primitive Doric-columned surrounds with entablature hoods. Two basement windows are visible above pavement level.
