Description

This stable block, located 10 meters east of Grasmere, dates from the 18th century and has been converted into a garage. It is constructed from colourwashed brick and cob, topped with a plain tile roof. The building is positioned end-on to the road and is a single-storey structure. At the road end, there is a lower cob carriage shed that features a 20th-century garage door. Attached to this is a stable that has two stable doors and a window beside it, with a half-hip at the road end and a hip at the other end. The building is included for its group value.
