Description
Dairy Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed of colourwashed brickwork, topped with an old plain roof featuring medieval-style ridge tiles with combs. The building is two stories and an attic on a cellar, comprising five bays with an outshot to the rear and a 19th-century lean-to at the right end. The central door is half-glazed and set in an older frame, flanked by two narrow flush frame sashes that were altered in the 19th century. All openings have segmental heads and a first-floor string course that is broken over the door. Above the door, there is a wide blank opening with a strong course sill, with two narrow sashes on either side, also altered in the 19th century. Each side of the center features a two-light hipped dormer, and there are gable end stacks. The lean-to has a 19th-century sash. Inside, the farmhouse retains a late 18th-century and 19th-century interior, including a massive tree-post that supports the rear wall of the original house, where it has been removed to create access to the outshot.
