Description

The garden wall to the Manor House is a high wall that encloses three sides of the garden, dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. The western section of the south wall is constructed of flintwork topped with a brick capping. This section transitions into a brick wall featuring a plinth and three panels of flintwork. The next part is primarily flintwork, topped with a large weathered brick capping above brick dentils, and includes two large brick gatepiers adorned with pineapples. Further east, the wall shifts to 17th-century brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers, topped with a massive capping. This brick pattern continues along the east wall, which features a central gateway with brick piers topped by ball finials. The wall returns on the north side, maintaining a similar style, and concludes near the north-east corner of the house.
