Description

This K6 telephone kiosk is a standardised design constructed from cast iron, painted red with horizontal glazing in the door and sides. The crowns on the top panels are applied rather than perforated. Rectangular white display signs bearing the word "TELEPHONE" are positioned beneath the shallow-curved roof.

The kiosk occupies a prominent location in the historic core of Droxford, at the junction of Mill Lane and the High Street. It has a strong visual connection with Sarum House and Cherwell Cottage, both listed Grade II buildings located on the opposite side of the High Street. The kiosk appears to be in generally good condition, although some of the glazing has been replaced with alternative materials and the internal equipment has been modernised. Note that the modernised internal equipment is considered not to contribute to the building’s group value.
