Description

Borough House is a circa 1800 house, originally Borough Farmhouse, of two storeys and three windows. The house is built of yellow stock brick with a decorative brick dentil cornice. It has a hipped slate roof of a moderately low pitch, with chimneys at each end. The windows are recessed sash windows with glazing bars, set within very low segmental arches and with stuccoed lintels. A semi-circular, classical porch with two columns provides access to a six-panel front door; the upper four panels are glazed. The door is topped with a corniced head and a rectangular patterned fanlight that incorporates a projecting lamp holder, all within a reeded architrave. Modern rear extensions have been added.
