Description

Shafts House is a cottage with timber-framed origins, primarily re-clad in the 18th century. The walls are constructed of brickwork in Flemish bond, featuring rubbed flat arches and plinth moulding above a flint base. The roof is half-hipped and covered with tiles, and there are gabled dormers. The east front elevation consists of one storey and an attic, with three above six windows, which are casements, some of which fill former doorways. There is a plain door set within a gabled hood. The rear wings include a raised north side.
