Description
The Cedars is a house located on Doctors Lane in West Meon, dating from the early to late 18th century, with later extensions added in the late 19th century. The main front wall is constructed of brickwork featuring blue headers, with flush red quoins and rubbed flat arches, topped by a parapet with stone coping. Some brick walls are in Flemish bond with blue headers, while the east wall is stuccoed, and the upper walls on the west side are roughcast. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with a flat section at the front behind the parapet.
The central part of the house has an older origin, and the main front appears as a forward extension, displaying a symmetrical arrangement of two storeys with three windows. The windows are Victorian sashes. The entrance features a stucco doorway with a pediment and plain pilasters that have console brackets at the top on either side, leading to a six-panelled door, four of which are glazed. Most other architectural details are from the late 19th century.
