Description

The remains of the curtain wall of Lewes Castle are located in the garden of Castlegate House. This structure dates back to the 12th century and is primarily built of flint, with some stone infill and red brick reinforcement and buttressing in the lower half. The wall measures approximately 14 yards long and stands 20 feet high, with a sharp drop at both ends.
