Description

The White House is a mid-18th century house, incorporating fabric from an earlier building. It is built of colourwashed brick with an old plain tile roof. The original part of the house is two storeys and three bays, with an irregular, added range to the rear. A 20th-century door is set in an older frame, with a flat hood above it, and is positioned to the left of centre, preceded by three steps. To the left of the door is a mid-18th century 12-pane segmental-head sash window. A 19th-century tripartite sash window is on the right. Above the door, and at the right-hand end of the front, are small 12-pane sash windows. Above the original windows are 19th-century 4-pane sashes. A chimney stack rises behind the ridge of the roof, positioned above the door.
